Sam Grubb, SLP-CCC

Sam is excited to be TheraSWIM’s first speech pathologist! Her previous work has centered primarily with Augmentative and Alternative Communication and increasing effective communication between parents and their children in a home-based setting. Her therapy techniques focus on using child-led play-based techniques. She has implemented a variety of AAC systems ranging from printed picture boards to electronic means of communication and is a huge proponent of providing access to children as quickly as possible. She graduated from Clemson University in 2017 (go Tigers!) with a BS in Biology and afterwards moved to Telluride, Colorado where she spent her days snowboarding and working for the ski resort in part as a Children’s snowboard instructor. She then completed her MS in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions in 2023. Now, here on the front range, Sam enjoys the mix of city and mountain life as her hobbies include, attending musicals, ax throwing, and escape rooms as well as snowboarding, camping, and floating in any body of water she can get access to. Overall, Sam loves to laugh and believes play creates the strongest foundation for success in communication. She is ecstatic to get to work at TheraSWIM as it provides a wonderful environment of joy and fun which facilitates growth to all that enter its doors, parent and child alike.
