Maren graduated in 2008 with her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University. She moved from the Houston area to Northern Colorado in 2009 and although she was born and raised in Texas, she has called Colorado home for the last fifteen years! Maren began a teaching career in early childhood development shortly after moving to Colorado, and taught Preschool for over seven years.
In 2014 Maren graduated from the Colorado School of English with certificates in TESL(teaching English as a second language) and TEFL(teaching English as a foreign language) with an emphasis on ESP(English for specific purposes). Maren enjoyed teaching English as a second language to high schoolers and adults in Northern Colorado and remotely while she was contracted with schools in the Beijing area during the start of the pandemic.
During her youth, Maren was a competitive swimmer, private swim instructor, and was a certified Lifeguard. She was a lifeguard for private pools and a private lakefront retreat center throughout her college years, and has always found joy and respite in being in the water.
Alongside of becoming an adaptive swim instructor, Maren is also a licensed clinical nurse aide and provides in home health support for medically fragile patients around Northern Colorado. Maren is currently pursuing her certification with Swim Angelfish so that she is able to provide the safest adaptive swim instruction to her talented swimmers!
Maren is fortunate enough to be a proud, single Mother to her three children. In her spare time she loves going on hikes with her kids, playing basketball with her kids, restorative yoga, salt water floats, baking, reading and spending quality time with her close friends and family. She is grateful for the opportunity to help support you and your children alongside their aquatic journey!
