Kate is a Physical Therapist Assistant with a passion for helping children build confidence, independence, strength, and when necessary, some seriously impressive coordination skills! She specializes in pediatric physical therapy and has additional specialized training in pediatric pelvic floor therapy. She believes therapy should feel less like “work” and more like play, while still sneaking in all the things that help kids move, grow, and reach their goals.
Originally from Beaufort, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia, Kate spent 14 years working on U.S. Marine Corps installations, including Parris Island, MCAS Beaufort, and Laurel Bay. After that long stint, she decided to trade military installations for pediatric therapy clinics and attended the Technical College of the Lowcountry, where she became a Physical Therapist Assistant. Apparently, working with children was the logical next adventure! Crayons and all!
Kate loves getting creative with therapy and believes every child deserves an approach that meets them where they are. Whether it’s turning exercises into games, using movement and sensory experiences to make therapy more engaging, or celebrating a tiny victory like it deserves a parade, she is all about making therapy meaningful and hopefully fun.
Outside of work, Kate is a mom to two children, Malakai (23) and London (11), which means she has had plenty of real-world practice negotiating with tiny humans…and eventually one much larger one. Her family also includes Xerxes, her Pit Bull and self-appointed household security officer who loves belly rubs and bum scratches.
When she isn’t working, Kate enjoys reading, cooking, drawing, staying active, and spending time with her family. She loves that pediatric therapy allows her to combine her creativity, love of movement, and genuine desire to help children and families—while occasionally getting paid to play in the process. She’s tough but she does it with love and care!
