Kat Wrightsman

Kat has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach and has a lifelong passion for helping others through therapeutic activities. She is applying to CSU’s OTD program and hopes to begin next summer. Through years of water sports and rehabbing her own injuries, she has experienced how healing the water can be—both physically and mentally. Kat has worked as a lifeguard, water safety instructor, private swim coach, head coach for children’s water polo club teams, and program instructor at Crested Butte’s Adaptive Sports Center, where she worked with participants of all ages and abilities. She loves connecting with children through play, imagination, and shared interests while encouraging autonomy, critical thinking, and confidence as they work toward their goals. Outside of instructing, Kat enjoys hiking, camping, mountain biking, hammocking, arts and crafts, discovering new music, and spending time with friends. She is excited to create lasting memories for all participants and their families!
