Chelsea is originally from Michigan, where she got her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology at Michigan State University. After graduation she moved to Colorado and received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009 at Colorado State University. She then moved to Nevada and practiced outpatient and school pediatric occupational therapy in Henderson and Las Vegas and married her husband in 2011. After the birth of their first child, Chelsea took some time off to attend to family medical needs until after her second child was born. In the fall of 2017 Chelsea and her family then moved back to Colorado to be close to family and the mountains! She practiced outpatient occupational therapy from September 2017-March 2020, at which time she again took time off to attend to her family and their medical needs during the Pandemic. She is now happy to have joined Theraswim part-time while still being a full-time Mom and wife. She now has 3 wonderful children, a hard-working husband, as well a white furry child that keeps her busy! She enjoys walks, hikes, and spending time with friends and family. Since growing up with an in-ground pool, Chelsea started swimming at an early age and loves to do so any chance she can, especially when swimming with her kids or clients! She is excited to change gears and perform occupational therapy in the water to be able to utilize the sensory benefits, ability to use resistance in water for strengthening, and a new way to think creatively and make therapy effective for clients and families with the use of the pool water. She looks forward to working with new and familiar families while in her new position as an Aquatic OT with Theraswim!
